CONGRATS TO OUR FEATURES:
In case you’re new to the link party scene, here’s how it works. Each week, each of the co-hosts will pick their favorite two links and these will be featured.
Melanie loved this desk that Paige at A Junkchick Life picked up for a song. It stayed in the garage for two years, but really was given a new life when she stained the top and painted the base black. Take home lesson: Never give up on a piece. Such a beautiful job!
Melanie also loved this piece by Mary at Orphans with Makeup. In her blog post, Mary explains how she handled unexpected bleed-through, the uniqueness of this chest, and how to make pieces with different styles become a cohesive collection.
Lucy choices are equally beautiful. Karen from Somewhat Quirky Design used multiple colors and layers to achieve this soft and elegant look. Her color choices and technique are surprising. What a treat to read all about it on her blog (click her blog name for the link).
Lucy also loved this amazing X arbor with a bench by Mindi from My Love 2 Create. It’s totally built from scratch, mainly in her kitchen. No joke. Mindi is just awesome like that. And she provides all of the glorious details on her blog.
And, as usual, I loved them all. In fact, all three of us loved them all, but we each had to make tough choices. My first pick is by Christina from Phoenix Restoration. She had to strip parts of this sideboard four times, then sand, fill and prime the entire piece. A custom blend of three colors from the General Finishes collection provided this exquisite light gray finish.
My other pick is this bench makeover by Robin from Redo It Yourself Inspirations. The color and distressing is sheer perfection, as is the styling. Doesn’t it look like it came straight from a Ralph Lauren advertisment? Luckily, Robin explains how she created this gorgeous look on her blog (click the blog name to connect).
