Work Space Makeover: ORC Week 1

The Spring 2021 One Room Challenge is finally underway and, for me, this season is all about Work Spaces.

I do hope you will join me and over 200 designers and bloggers for the 8-week series of DIY and design projects.

Work Space Makeover:

Why Now?

If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us, it is that many of our homes need improved function.

And mine is no exception.

During the pandemic, we had to carve out space for three hard-working, yet very different office spaces.

In some ways, this was easy and in other ways, not so much.

This Spring’s 8-week series will share how unique decorating and DIY projects can hide most (if not all) of the business end of a work space and make any Zoom call backdrop a thing of envy.

Work Space Makeover:

The Plans

In general, the functional needs for Work Spaces are as different as the people who use them. For this reason, I will use the makeover on the main floor as the official design room for this series, but share a few unique form and function ideas from the other spaces along the way. The goal is to help you find which set-up or combination of set-ups is right for you.

Expect to see:

  • Vintage and modern decor mix

  • Old window valances converted to unique wall ledges

  • Furniture remakes to perform multiple duties

  • How to manage wall-to-wall computer screens

  • How to hide file cabinets in plain sight

Please tune-in to watch the projects progress and the rooms unfold. It’s always a joy to have you stop by.
