Do you have your patios and porches ready for summer? I have to admit that I do not, but am so inspired by this porch set in crisp white and blue. Maxine really outdid herself with this one.For this week’s Furniture Fix, we wanted to try something different and forgo having a collage. We also wanted to try a week with only three features, but with a little more narrative about each piece. And so….. here we are. Please let me know if you like the this or the other format better. In the meantime……..
Please feel free to follow your hosts on social media.
We’d love to share with you there.

CONGRATS TO OUR FEATURES:
This week, we’ve decided to change up the number of features. Each of the hosts chose one piece, then the piece and a bit about why it was chosen is explained with the photo.
The first, by Patricia from The Wood Spa, is a gray media cabinet. The finish was achieved by layering several products and then using a special wire brush technique that Patricia created. She includes several closeups on her blog so that you can get a better idea of how the wire brush adds to the overall look. There is also a nice tutorial.
The second, by Maxine from Studio Paint, features how she refinished an indoor dining set to be used outdoors on a protected porch. The process includes four coats of paint, hand distressing, and a special poly final coat. May is the perfect time for this particular post.
And the third, by Debra from Shoppe No. 5, is a sweet chair that she rescued from a rescue. LOL…..I’m not kidding. She really did. 🙂 Then she leaves some of the damage because it adds to the charm, cleans up the original upholstery, and adds a stencil to the seat.

Love the features!! And I like having a little more narrative for each piece- Nice new layout!
Thanks, Sarah. Hopefully, shorter is easier to read and has a faster load time. LOL… So much to worry about. LOL.. Appreciate your stopping by so very much.
Thank you so much for the party, Susie! Wishing you a fantastic weekend 🙂

Our pleasure, Maxine. Your table set rocked the fresh crisp white and blue.
Thank you so much for including my curbside chair in the features. I really appreciate it and enjoy all of the fabulous ideas everyone has.
Our pleasure, Debra. That little chair has quite a history. I’ve loved the story and was happy that you left some of the original patina. It added to its charm.
Thank you for the great party! I love the new format with a little back story. There are always such great projects here!
Thanks, Toni. I really like the slimmed-down version, too.
