There is just something about Spring

that triggers whimsy, silliness, and fun.

IMG_1845Glove

It reminds us that not everything in life has to be so serious. πŸ™

IMG_1843

To honor this wonderful lighthearted season….

a little basket of flowers

has been gathered…

to brighten…

your day.

IMG_1842

Oh, boy….

was it fun to collect these dollar store items…

IMG_1836

Then zip home and get going on this cheery little project.

First, the basket was weighed down with a brick.

Overkill?

Oh…yes.

But….it was in the sunroom…

clean and ready to serve.

It was going to get covered with pink grass anyway.

IMG_1837

Why pink?

I don’t know.

Why not pink?

πŸ™‚

Next…tape or wire the handles together to make the basket more stiff and steady.

Then…hang the gloves over one of the handles.

When I removed the tag from the gloves, I just pulled it off so that they stayed together with their original plastic doodad.  Then I used the doodad to latch the gloves around the handle.

IMG_1839

The tools will stand up nicely when tucked between the basket handles and the brick.

IMG_1840

The flowers can be cut apart if you want,

but I kept them together and just turn the stem under until I got the desired height.

IMG_1841

Don’t forget to cover the stem stub with some grass…

and then work your flowers into place.

IMG_1848

β€œIf I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice Adventures in Wonderland

IMG_1844

But….until then….

…dear Alice…

…let us dream of everything nonsense…

but enjoy some whimsy each day.

IMG_1858

Until next time,

Have a magical Spring,

Oh…..and please…don’t forget to PIN…..

Cute idea! I was looking for garden tools just like that at our dollar store last week and walked out with just a pair of garden gloves. You scored at yours and I love how you combined your items – too stink’n cute!
